Shoes Leave, Hope Enters

So last Wednesday came and went; but this was no ordinary Wednesday, this was the day FANSOHES donated a batch of shoes to the disaster-torn nation of Haiti.  Everyone took a part in the process.  Katelyn and Lauren were the main box movers while Kenya slapped FANSHOES stickers on the boxes all the while being photographed by Kevin.  Britton was there to manage things and to make sure everything went smoothly.  Gabriel even made an appearance despite being tied up with other obligations throughout the day.

Yes, we wore our newly printed FANSHOES T-shirts, custom made by Bill Kingston and the gang over at Crazy Dog T-shirts, with pride.  We all shared a sense of sadness to see the shoes go but at the same time were very happy knowing the shoes would be giving comfort to those in need in Haiti.  We would like to thank Soles4Souls and everyone else who was involved with this project for making it happen.

Shoe Donation Preparation

Anxiously waiting tomorrow’s donation, the members of FANSHOES are making last minute contacts, picking up t-shirts and perfecting the website.

Most of us helped put something together for the donation. Britton, Katelyn and Kevin worked on the website. While Lauren and Gabriel did the behind the scenes work contacting people to report on this wonderful occasion.

Tomorrow the FANSHOES crew will be at the warehouse getting the shoes ready to ship out. Lauren Sformo says, “Its been a short work in progress. I hope that all the work we have put into this donation inspires people to also donate their shoes.”

You will also be able to catch a live stream of the donation.  Check back soon for the link.

On the News and In the Paper

On Friday July 16th, FANSHOES CEO Gabriel Ankamafio-Adjei and Licensing Manager Britton Nemecek were interviewed by Linzi Sheldon about the up and coming donation of shoes. The video shows both of them packing up the shoes to be sent to Soles4Souls on Wednesday.  You can also read the online article here.

On Saturday July 17th, FANSHOES was in the Democrat and Chronicle about the donation again. FANSHOES was mentioned in a short blurb in the business section.
