FANSHOES has acquired the names and trademarks for the new collection of flip-flops “FanFlops”. It is a big step for FANSHOES and the future of the company.
FanFlops will be a large part of the Spring 2011 collegiate collection. They will be for the schools FANSHOES currently has a license for. Most of the colleges are major NCAA teams and the flops will be available in stores and online.
The first official use of the name, internationally, will be the 2011 Women’s World Cup in Germany. FANSHOES will be the sole provider for footwear for the tournament. The collection will be available in the United States and Germany, the two largest markets for the World Cup.
CEO Gabriel Ankomafio-Adjei said that, “acquiring the trademark and copyright to such a name is great coup for our young company. Not only does it set us apart from other flip flop brands but it also makes it easier for our customers to remember and recognize the product better, while pushing it toward the global image we are striving to reach.”
