FANSHOES Will be a Large Part of the 2011 Women’s World Cup

Great News! FANSHOES is the only company to receive a footwear license for the 2011 Women’s World Cup in Germany.

FANSHOES will be a big part of the Women’s World Cup providing shoes, boots and flip-flops for the fans. The collection will be sold in both Europe and North America. Keep an eye out for our links to the pages that are selling the collection.

The collection will be available in over 1000 stores in Europe. FANSHOES is still waiting to hear from retailers in North America when we know so will you! For now it will only be available in Europe starting in Spring 2011 ahead of the event in the summer.

The Women’s World Cup is the perfect opportunity for FANSHOES to start in the international market. With time and a solid plan the Women’s World Cup will be a great learning experience for FANSHOES, which will help in the future. We hope to be a significant part of the national and international market and eventually be at the Men’s World Cup in 2014. We will update our blog on when and where you can order shoes to be the best fan you can be!

Officially FANFLOPS

FANSHOES has acquired the names and trademarks for the new collection of flip-flops “FanFlops”. It is a big step for FANSHOES and the future of the company.

FanFlops will be a large part of the Spring 2011 collegiate collection. They will be for the schools FANSHOES currently has a license for. Most of the colleges are major NCAA teams and the flops will be available in stores and online.

The first official use of the name, internationally, will be the 2011 Women’s World Cup in Germany. FANSHOES will be the sole provider for footwear for the tournament. The collection will be available in the United States and Germany, the two largest markets for the World Cup.

CEO Gabriel Ankomafio-Adjei said that, “acquiring the trademark and copyright to such a name is great coup for our young company. Not only does it set us apart from other flip flop brands but it also makes it easier for our customers to remember and recognize the product better, while pushing it toward the global image we are striving to reach.”

FANSHOES Interviewed by “Generation News”

On Friday June 11, 2010 the FANSHOES crew was interviewed by a young company called “Generation News”. Gabe talked about how he started the company and got to where we are today. Britt talked about how he got involved with FANSHOES. The interns talked about their roles at FANSHOES and spoke of a typical day at the FANSHOES office. “Generation News” will be editing the video that they took and posting it on their website in July.

Generation News is a nonprofit organization that goes out into the Rochester area and finds positive stories about the younger generation. “Generation News” is designed to tastefully showcase positive accomplishments of the youth in our communities. Our objective is to establish an organization in which the media’s portrayal of the youths in our communities of Monroe County will begin to radically repair the images of our youths. This organization will be designed to not only give our youth a better image to the older generations, but also to change the ways in which the youth of this county view themselves.

The “Generation News” website is http://www.generationnews.org/index.html. Check it out. They are also a young company like us so we need to spread the word about other young entrepreneurial ideas that have become a reality. We will let you know when the video is up on the “Generation News” website.
